Cape Breton Web Log

Our Cape Breton Adventure lasted only from Oct 2003 to Mar 2004. We've since moved back to Toronto See our new location in Toronto

We settled into life at the North River Schoolhouse on the island of Cape Breton, on the windswept East Coast of Canada. It's a gorgeous but somewhat remote area -- there is NO TOWN-- with a fabulous view of the changing fall colours.

Our area is unique for its high ratio of artists and craftsmen, many of whom came here from the United States or other parts of Canada. They include a potter (our landlady), 2 violin makers (including our landlord), a photographer, ironsmith, woodworker, and leather worker.

Browse the menu at the right to see how we got here, explore the island with us, and take a look at life inside the Schoolhouse. Click here
